He didn’t mention 24-Hour Party People, which is a damnsight better than Control.
You’re forgetting that most musical artists go downhill rather than up.
In an artistic sense Ian Curtis had to die.
I think there are more bands mentioned that owe a lot of their sound to this band. It’s strange how a band can have a resurgence like this. It’s deserved. They were a great band. Ian Curtis had the intensity that all the great artists have.
Great video. I enjoyed Greg Kot’s input very much.
If Ian Curtis was THAT brilliant when he was “just getting started”; I can only imagine how great he would have become if he had lived!
Thanks for posting this! I just love this band. They are near and dear to my heart!!! I’ve seen Control, it’s amazing, and I can’t wait to see the documentary next year.
