The thing I like about the 'medusa scene' is that its never lost its eerie atmospheric quality. Even today, its still un-nerving, spooky, and probably should never have been in a kids film back in 1981... definitely one of harryhausen's best scenes and proof that you dont need CGI in every Special FX movie. (even the puppet of yoda in the original star wars movies, craps on the cgi effort of the new movies)
